In May of 2002, Enviro-Air was contracted to clean and demolish oil-contaminated areas of an old glass manufacturing plant. The project consisted of the removal of approximately 150 tons of oily sludges and 65,000 gallons of oil contaminated water. The waste materials were removed from over 2,000 linear feet of floor drains, an oil water separator, 6 above ground storage tanks and over 3,000 linear feet of piping. Enviro-Air personnel removed the oily sludges from inside the plant and mixed them with cement kiln dust to stabilize the material to a point where it would be acceptable to thermal treatment facility. The oily waters were removed by vacuum truck and sent of site to an oil recycling facility. After the solids were removed from the pits, separators and trenches, the areas were pressure washed. The wash water was removed and shipped offsite to an oil recycling facility as well. Enviro-Air utilized a vactor to remove the solids from an oil water separator that contained 7 feet of oily solids. The entire project was completed in 2 weeks.
