Enviro-Air has been contracted by a large consulting firm representing a utility company to remediate residential properties in a suburb of Chicago, IL. The remediation consists of the excavation of the properties to 3 feet. The foundations are waterproofed; the property is backfilled and compacted. Enviro-Air has installed new water and sewer lines, replaced landscaping, replaced concrete structures and on certain homes, supported the house itself. The contaminated material was shipped offsite to a local landfill. Due to the fact that the homes are occupied during the remediation, extreme care had to be taken to not disturb the residents. Some of the residences are within 4 feet of each other requiring extensive hand work and the use of small excavation equipment. This is the third year of this contract.
